Bimetal Bearings Limited has a full-fledged R&D centre approved by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt of India.  The R&D centre is fully equipped to design, test and develop bearings, bushings and thrust washers to meet exacting requirements of both the OEMs and the aftermarket. The R&D team constantly monitors the products by close interaction with OEMs during new product development and during process / material up-gradation.

The R&D facilities include:

• Advanced CAD station with Pro E for product and tool development
• Eddy Current Dynamometer with Hydraulic motoring and ten stage potentiometeric programmer
• Test rigs for evaluating specific characteristics of bearing material such as fatigue strength, seizure and resistance to wear, in accelerated mode
• Chemical and metallurgical laboratory with Neophot 32 microscope for viewing microstructure and micro hardness testing and Atomic absorption spectrophotometer for evaluation of various elements of bearing material
